The Theunissen Lab joined the Center of Regenerative Medicine for a St. Louis Cardinals game on Thursday, May 4th. Despite our vocal support, the Cardinals lost to the Angels. Keep up the good fight Redbirds!

Visit to University of Colorado Boulder
Thor visited the Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology at CU Boulder on Thursday, November 17. He gave a seminar on human pluripotent stem cell states and the genetic regulation of human trophoblast stem cells. He also met with faculty in the Department of Biochemistry and the BioFrontiers Institute. Thanks again Justin Brumbaugh for your kind invitation to visit this beautiful campus!

Thor Theunissen was awarded an NIH Director’s New Innovator Award. The award supports unusually innovative research from early-career investigators who are within 10 years of their final degrees or clinical residencies. See the press release related to this award here.
Grant from McDonnell Center
We were awarded a Small Grant from the McDonnell Center for Cellular and Molecular Neurobiology for a joint project together with Joseph Corbo’s laboratory, entitled “Evaluating the differentiation potential of naive human pluripotent stem cells and their suitability for testing a reprogramming-based therapy for blindness.”
